What it is
The Clinserts Pro-Tool is a dedicated, manual installation tool engineered to solve three common issues seen with hammer-based methods: surface marring, bent locking clins and inconsistent installation depth. By guiding the insert and its clins through the full stroke, the tool helps ensure a straight, controlled set every time.
How it works
- Fully guided motion supports the insert body and clins to prevent bending or splaying.
- Chamfered pins protect the counterbore and allow the insert to be driven below flush typically 0.25-0.76 mm below the surface which is essential in aerospace applications and required by manufacturers like Boeing, Airbus and NASA

Benefits at a glance
- No surface damage: Protects finished parts, counterbores and coatings during installation.
- Guided clins: Prevents bent or misaligned clins for reliable pull-out and torque performance.
- Controlled depth: Drives inserts below flush to support typical aerospace under-flush requirements.
- Repeatable quality: Reduces operator variability, rework, and scrap.
- Production friendly: Clean, consistent results for prototypes, MRO and high-mix production lines.
Use cases
Boeing installation method.
Airbus installation method.
- Aerospace structures and interior components where cosmetic finishes must be preserved.
- Precision assemblies that specify under-flush installation for clearance or sealing.
- Visible panels, thin sheet materials, or delicate substrates prone to marking.
- Prototyping and MRO work where repeatability and speed matter without adding power tools.
- Boeing requires this installation as described in their manual for insert installation, compatibility list here.
