AGSE's maintenance checklist, a new section in a growing number of select equipment service manuals, helps prepare the stand for optimal personnel and engine protection by better identifying and correcting damaged or missing components during a preliminary inspection.
The maintenance checklist primarily breaks down the equipment's main assembly into base and cradle subassemblies, illustrating step-by-step tasks not limited to verifying their critical components' part numbers, location, and condition; testing and lubricating moving parts; and inspecting weldment and plating finishes for cracks and corrosion. Inspectors can mark each task with a pass, confirming no defects or improper function, or fail if correction is needed, such as discovering missing parts or parts not meeting a quality standard.
A guide at the end of the checklist provides visual examples of what damage to seek out that can impede the stand's functionality.
